Youthlaw’s Stand Up For Our Rights Project was a 3-year pilot project based in Ballarat between 2022 and 2025.
Designed as a youth empowerment pilot, SUFOR gave children and young people in residential care, and later foster care, kinship care, and young care leavers, timely access to legal information, advocacy, and specialist support.
Using an innovative service model that drew on strong community collaboration, the project worked to reduce the criminalisation and victimisation of young people, elevate their voices, and strengthen their confidence to assert their rights.
