Interested in joining the Young People’s Legal Rights Centre (YOUTHLAW) Board?

Nominate before 5pm on Friday 11 November 2022

Youthlaw is a dynamic not-for-profit community legal centre based in Melbourne providing free legal advice and representation to young people aged under 25, throughout Victoria.

We were established in 2001 and have grown over the years to include many services and programs including our adolescent violence in the home service, an outreach service via headspace and other youth centres around Victoria, a service to young people in child protection residential care, and a program for child protection care leavers.

The Board is voluntary and we meet about 6 times a year in the evening from 6.30pm

This year at our AGM on the 16th November, we are looking for four new Board members.

You do not need to have special skills or experience of being on a Board. We just need people who are passionate and committed to upholding and advocating for the rights of young people, particularly those who are vulnerable or face prejudice.

How to nominate

To nominate you need to be a member of Youthlaw. You can do this easily by going to our website and filling in the membership form online at https://youthlaw.asn.au/get-involved/become-a-member/

If you are interested but would like more information please email us on admin@youthlaw.asn.au and we will arrange for someone to speak to you or look at the description provided below.

If you want to nominate, just fill in the nomination form below and send it to us by email or fax by 5pm on Friday 11 November 2022.  If you need, a member to support your nomination just contact us by email and we can arrange this.

  1. Nomination form for election to the Board
  2. General Board member Position Description

After 5pm on Friday 11 November 2022 we will then contact you to let you know if an election will go ahead (an election will not be held if the number of nominations received do not exceed the number of positions available). If an election is required, we ask that you speak briefly (up to 3 minutes) at the AGM about yourself and what you might bring to the Board.
